SanDisk launches world's fastest Micro SD and a trio of Cruzers

Memory of a device is most important as we all have lots of images and songs to live our life to the fullest. SanDisk, a computer component and storage device maker, has announced the launch of two new micro SD cards which it claims are the fastest in the industry. The new cards, named as SanDisk Extreme micro SDHC and micro SDXC UHS-I, are available in 16 GB to 64 GB capacities and priced between Rs 2,990 to Rs 9,750."The micro SDXC card is equipped with the fastest speed available in the market, with up to 80 MB/sec read and up to 50 MB/sec write speeds, allowing faster shot-to-shot performance, rapid data transfer, fast action photography, continuous burst mode, and quick file transfers," SanDisk said in a press release. The first, the SanDisk Extreme II SSD, uses the company's 19nm flash memory and tiered system architecture to improve data-transfer, application launching, as well as boot-up and shut-down times for notebook computers and desktops. Added to that, the Extreme II SSD gives speeds of up to 550MB/s sequential read as well as up to 510MB/s sequential write speeds. Currently, the new SSD product will be available in 120GB, 240GB and 480GB3 capacity variants coming with a price tag of Rs 14,750, Rs 26,100 and Rs 49,500 respectively. Added in is a 5-year warranty.

The second addition to the line-up is the Extreme microSDHC and microSDXC UHS-I memory cards. These memory cards give users UHS Speed Class 1(U1) as well as Class 10 video recording, which allows for full-HD video recording on smartphones and cameras. The company has said that the microSDXC card will offer the fastest speeds available, with up to 80MB/s read and up to 50MB/s write speeds. There are memory cards available in 16GB, 32 GB and 64GB capacity variants sporting price tags ranging from Rs 2,990 to Rs 9,750, depending on the capacity being purchased. Added in is a lifetime limited warranty for all the memory cards. The third addition is the Ultra USB 3.0 flash drive, which allows users to transfer and share large files with speeds up to 80MB/s. The Ultra USB 3.0 comes with a 5-year limited warranty and will be available with capacities ranging from 16GB to 64GB. The price tag of the USB flash drive will range from Rs 1250 to Rs 4950 depending on the capacity.  The launch also comprised of four USB pen drives and a high speed memory card. In addition to these products, SanDisk also introduced the SanDisk SecureAccess software that allows encryption and password protection for selected files on the USB drive. It also provides 2GB of online storage that can be accessed from any web browser.
According to the company, the four USB flash drives namely SanDisk Extreme, Cruzer Glide, Cruzer Facet and Cruzer Pro are aimed and designed for the youth. The fifth product, SanDisk Extreme Pro has been labelled as the fastest microSD card in the world.
SanDiskExtreme
SanDisk Extreme is the fastest USB flash drive offered by SanDisk. Contrary to majority of the pen drives that are powered by USB 2.0, this one is USB 3.0 enabled. It can transfer and store files with a speed of up to 190MB/seconds, which means that a 3 GB file will be transferred on this pen drive in just 20 seconds and a 40 GB would take about four minutes. The SanDisk Extreme USB flash drive is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants, with the prices ranging from Rs. 1,651 to Rs. 5,189.
SanDisk Cruzer Glide
SanDisk Cruzer Glide is SanDisk’s highest capacity USB flash drive with a capacity of 128GB. The drive is backed by a five year limited warranty and is available and is available in 4GB – 128GB capacities priced between Rs. 301 to Rs. 6,161.
SanDisk Cruzer Pop
The Cruzer Pro is the thinnest USB drive in SanDisk’s product range. It is 4mm thick and will be available in three colours. It is available in 4GB -32GB capacities and its price ranges between Rs. 259 – Rs. 1,406.
SanDisk Cruzer Facet
SanDisk Cruzer Facet is a USB flash drive with a stainless-steel casing designed with a faceted texture. The drive is available in various colours and comes in 4GB-32GB capacities. The prices for the same range from Rs. 283 – Rs. 1,448.
SanDisk Extreme Pro
aSanDisk Extreme Pro microSDHC UHS-I card is the world’s fastest mobile memory card. The card is expected to be available by the third quarter of 2012 and in 8GB and 16GB capacities. The 8GB model will be priced at Rs. 2,599 while the 16GB model will be available for Rs. 4,699.
