Samsung Galaxy S IV hits 20M in sales

Korean smartphone giants, Samsung has grabbed yet another record, selling its flagship device the Samsung Galaxy S4 being 20M times. Despite reports (which were denied) of Samsung cutting down orders for Galaxy S4 parts, the company's flagship is selling very well – Yonhap News is reporting that the tech giant had shipped 20 million units by the end of June. The Galaxy S4 hit the 10 million mark in late May, so it appears the demand isn't slowing down at all. A report by Yonhap News claims that the company has managed to ship over 20 million Samsung Galaxy S4 units of by end of June. The report also goes on to claim that it took Samsung Galaxy S IIIabout 100 days to reach this mark, so its successor is selling 1.7 times faster.The publication also claims that Samsung managed to sell 500,000 units in Korea alone.In May, Samsung had announced that it has managed to ship 10 million units of its Galaxy S4smartphone. RBC Capital Markets analyst Mark Sue has predicted that the Korean smartphone maker will ship 80 million units in 2013. The Samsung Galaxy S III had managed to ship 60 million units in the same period. I need not tell you about the specifications as everyone out there might know this. I cant resist but type it......Samsung Galaxy S4 sports a 5-inch full-HD screen with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels, and pixel density of 441ppi. It is powered by 1.6GHz Exynos octa-core processor in some regions, and a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor in others. It has 2GB of RAM and a PowerVR SGX544MP3 triple-core GPU.The smartphone comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants but also features a microSD card slot for expanding the store.The Galaxy S4 sports a 13-megapixels rear shooter and a 2-megapixel one on the front. The Galaxy S4 offers more camera features including dual-shot, employing the use of both front and back camera, an eraser shot mode to remove people from photos, and a Cinemagram like feature called Cinema Photo, among several other tricks. It also offers a number of sensors including a temperature and humidity sensor and motion and gesture control features.Various Galaxy S4 variants have been launched including Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom.Additionally, if the latest tech leaks are to be believed, Samsung Galaxy S5 could be very much in the works and may feature a finger print detection technology. There have been several leaks and speculations in this regard.  Given the reputation of the South Korean technology giant for its constant product innovation, what has emerged as a rumour now may turn out to be true in the future as far as Galaxy S5 is concerned.In comparison, sales of the iPhone 5 exceeded 5 million in the device's first weekend. The company does not break down sales by specific iPhone model, but Apple did see record iPhone shipments of 47.8 million units in the holiday 2012 quarter.
