Samsung Galaxy Note III to feature a massive 3GB RAM ?

The Samsung Galaxy Note had 1GB RAM, the Galaxy Note II had 2GB RAM and the Galaxy Note III will have... 3GB RAM. That's what Korean publication Hankyung claims anyway. So far from leaks we've seen that the Note III will pack either a Snapdragon 800 chipset or an Exynos 5 Octa (pretty much the same options as the Galaxy S4 uses, now that the LTE-A version is official). However, the publication mentions LTE Advanced, which points to the Qualcomm chipset, at least in some regions. As for RAM supplier, Samsung, LG and SK Hynix have been mentioned. Samsung is already manufacturing 4GB LPDDR3 RAM based on a 20nm process, SK Hynix also demoed such RAM chips.Other Note III specs we've gleaned from leaks include a 5.7" or 6" Super AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution and a 13MP camera. In terms of looks it's set to be a Galaxy S4 lookalike.Meanwhile, SamMobile reports that the Galaxy Note III will be 8mm thick and weigh 183g. That's a little thinner than the Note II and about the same weight (not impossible, considering the bigger Mega 6.3 is just 15g heavier). The 3GB of RAM had been mentioned previously, although some sources had claimed that the Galaxy Note 3 would land with 2GB of RAM on the 3G version and only sport the 3GB on the LTE model. But we're now hearing that both versions – or just the one depending on your country - will come with the 3GB of RAM inside. It’s become a race, suddenly, to deliver the first Android smartphone – or first smartphone with any mobile operating system, that is, to bring on a whopping 3GB of RAM, here between the Samsung Galaxy Note III and the LG Optimus G2. While neither device has been confirmed with full specifications delivered by its creator – or confirmed to exist, at that – both machines have been rumored just today to be carrying the next-level amount of processing capability. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to be available with different processors in different markets, it is expecting the US and European version of the handset to come with a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with a clock speed of 2.3GHz.The other version of the Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to feature a Samsung Exynos 5420 processor, the LTE version of the handset is also rumored to support LTE Advanced. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to feature a full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, there may be two different display versions available, one with an LCD display and one with a Super AMOLED display. The Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to come with a 13 megapixel camera, the camera will apparently come with a number of advanced camera features.Samsung launched its new eye tracking technology with the Samsung Galaxy S4, these features, Eye Pause and Eye Scroll are also expected to be available in the new Samsung Galaxy Note 3.Samsung are rumored to be announcing the Galaxy Note 3 in September at a Samsung Unpacked event on the 4th of September, they will then be showing the handset off at IFA in September.
