There have been multiple rumours surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Note
III. The latest to join ranks is the release date of the phablet. Samsung’s third
iteration of the Note phablet will be launched in September and September 4th
to be exact. While the date had already leaked out before, the news seems to
now be confirmed as a Korean site confirmed the previous leaked launch date.
According to a report by Korea Herald, the Korean phone-maker will launch the
Samsung Galaxy Note III to directly compete with Apple’s iPhone. The iPhone
which generally is launched in the second or third quarter each year is also
rumoured to be slated for a September release. While so far, there have been
confusing leaks related to Samsung Galaxy Note III, the report now states that
the phablet will come with 5.7-inch screen. There have also been multiple
leaked images of the device. The phone will be an LTE advanced phablet and will
definitely come with better specifications as compared to the predecessor. The
phone will reportedly feature a whopping 3 GB RAM along with Samsung’s Octa
core processor made popular by the launch of Samsung Galaxy S4. With a better RAM and the same processor, we wonder if
Samsung Galaxy Note III will be faster than the present fastest phone and
Samsung will break their own record? We sure can’t wait to find out! Might wanna take this one
with a grain of salt, but if this latest rumor pans out, we could be looking at
4 different models of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launching
later this year. According to the Korean website ETNews,
Samsung will be doing what they do best and release the Samsung Galaxy Note 3
in a variety of hardware configurations, but not in the way you might think. Unlike
the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Mini, the processor will largely remain the same
across the 4 different models — it’s the display, camera and build materials
that are the main components changing across these models The highest-of-end
Galaxy Note 3′s is said to feature Samsung’s flexible display technology, along
with a 13MP camera and premium metal body that will offer a 30% reduction in
thickness over the previous Galaxy Note 2. Another model will feature a
Sharp-made LCD display, 8MP camera, less accurate digitizer pen, and plastic
body. The display size will fluctuate across devices, but not by much. Expect
the screen size to hover around 5.68-5.7-inches. No word on the other variants,
but we suspect a more water resistant version, ala the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, could also be in the works. All 4
devices are said to be releasing simultaneously this year, so you wont have to
wait too long for your model of choice to release after another Samsung is in
the process of testing multiple models for the Galaxy Note 3, all with
different perks. Display sizes seem to range between 5.68 inches and 5.7
inches, lining up with previous reports. There was no mention of a bigger
6-inch model, so that size may have been scrapped a long time ago despite
persistent rumors that it could end up being the Galaxy Note 3's size. Samsung
is also reportedly having trouble deciding between standard AMOLED panels, a
flexible AMOLED display, and Sharp's IGZO technology. Whatever the final
decision is, however, consumers can rest easy knowing it will be 1080p. As far
as the cameras go, Samsung is allegedly interested in making the device thinner
by using an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera instead of the 13-megapixel shooter
that can be found on the Galaxy S4. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3's processor is
also up in the air, with some insiders claiming an Exynos 5 Octa eight-core
chipset, and others saying Samsung is leaning toward a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800
clocked over 2GHz. Nothing has been confirmed by Samsung, so be sure to take
all the specs with a healthy helping of salt. Official details should emerge in
a couple months time, around the IFA conference in Berlin at the beginning of
September. Samsung is expected to hold a Samsung Unpacked event on Sept. 4
where it will showcase the new phablet to the public and announce release time
frames and more. The phablet should then launch internationally, and land in
the United States in time for the busy holiday shopping season. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3
is tipped for a launch with four different price tags, with the specs adjusted
according to each price range from top-tier to budget. The information
comes from Korean news site ETNews,
which details the vague specs of each level of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It is not known yet whether each device will have a slightly different
name, but for now it seems that they will all fall under the umbrella of
the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 name. The
most expensive Galaxy Note 3 will supposedly come with a shatterproof AMOLED
display and be made from unknown “high-quality materials”, moving away from the
plastic body of the Samsung Galaxy
S4. The high-end
option could also pack a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. Moving down a tier, the Samsung
Galaxy Note 3 will retain the 13-megapixel rear camera but only have a regular
AMOLED screen. The third most expensive option will revert to an LCD
display with that 13-megapixel camera, while the cheapest model will only have
an 8-megapixel rear camera and an LCD screen. All
three of the lower models will lose the “high-quality” body in favour of the
plastic bodies seen on the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and other smartphones in the Samsung Galaxy range. Previous rumours suggest the
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be vastly thinner than the 9.4mm Samsung Galaxy Note
2 at 8mm thick.
