LG which
reportedly became the world's third largest smartphone vendor in the first
quarter of 2013, seems to be overwhelmed by the response to its Optimus
smartphone series.LG will soon be
expanding the availability of its flagship phablet starting with Italy . The
Korean manufacturer will be bringing the Optimus G Pro to 40 new countries,
starting with Italy this week. Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG
Electronics Mobile Communications Company said, "We are excited to be
bringing our award-winning Optimus G Pro to a worldwide audience. The Optimus G
Pro showcases the next generation smartphone trends with its large display,
high-performance features and innovative mobile experience." Following its launch in Italy, LG Optimus G Pro will be available in Europe, Latin America,
Commonwealth of Independent States and the Middle East by the end of this
quarter. However, the Optimus G Pro is unlikely to make it to the stores of UK,
as LG is reportedly worried about the "immature" LTE network in the
region. The LG Optimus G Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon
600 processor and comes with 2GB RAM. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS
display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels at 400ppi pixel density. The
device comes with a 3,140mAh battery. It also comes with a number of pre-loaded
features like dual camera recording, virtual reality panorama and QSlide. The
rollout comes at a time when LG is reportedly working on the successor to its Optimus G, the Optimus G2. The company
is rumoured to launch the device in an event scheduled for August 7 this year.
